Let me take a quick second to introduce my sister, Blaina Tallent Best. For as long as I have known her (that would be my entire life), she has always been motivated to try new things and eager to finish them with perfection. This go around was writing her first children’s book. Not only did she embark on this new adventure like a pro, she allowed the words to come straight from the heart! I think you all will love this book!

Here’s a little from the author:
For some reason, I have always been interested in writing and illustrating a children’s book, but I never really thought much about it until my oldest daughter became fascinated with her books.
At the time, she was a little under a year old. I noticed how she gravitated to certain books with deep color in the illustrations. As she’s gotten older, she loves for me and my husband to read to her, but she doesn’t want to sit still longer than 4 minutes at a time. We rarely ever finish a book before she is distracted. This really got me to wondering if I could develop a book that would encourage toddlers and preschoolers to pay attention long enough to finish a story while also providing young readers with a little book they could utilize to develop their reading skills. So, I began to pray for God to lay the right words on my heart.
Within no time, the subject of the book was clear to me and I realized that this could be an opportunity to encourage young children to be a part of a kinder, more thoughtful world. Writing the book happened on the go whenever I had a spare moment and sometimes lines would come to me spontaneously (answered prayer). Designing the book and developing the illustrations was a lot of fun, as I was able to utilize my daughters and some of my nieces and nephews in my illustrations.
This has been a rewarding journey, especially when I received my first copy of the book and read it to my daughters.
I hope this book positively impacts young listeners and readers to be the type of person who is willing to help people in all aspects of life. Not because they have to, but because they enjoy sharing their “helping hearts” with others.
