As we continue on this journey of social distancing I’m going to try to keep my kiddos busy with some activities that we normally wouldn’t have the time or chance to do. I figured since most of us are in the same boat I would share with you all what we are going to do this week!
So in no particular order, here we go!
Build a bird feeder! This could look differently for everyone because we’re all using things we have around the house. Several months ago I bought a feeder that hangs in the tree and you can put things like peanut butter and seed covered apples on it. For the sake of wasting time, we will also try to get crafty and make another kind too.

A fairy garden!! If you follow my Instagram you know that we recently made Abram a “worm home” for his worms and it has occupied him like I never thought it could!! So I have high hopes that making Ellie a fairy garden will balance this out and give them both something to distract them outside!
I vote using anything around the house to make small fences, furniture, plants, and whatever else you are wanting in your fairy garden! Luckily this is something I have been wanting to do with Ellie for a while now so I have gathered some cute fairy furniture. But get creative!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Make a time capsule. I made a free printable time capsule form and pinned it on Pinterest, I’ll link it below! I’m going to help the kids fill that out with some of their favorite things and then we can add some small things that represent some of things on their list! Luckily I have tons of mason jars so they will be able to fill their mason jars up and bury them in the backyard to dig up in years to come!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Have a water fun day! Pick the warmest day this week and collect all the buckets, sponges, water guns and water balloons! If you have a water sprinkler that would create some great water play!
Add some water games and music to the mix to keep it up beat and energetic.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Have a paint party! Have a “Painting with a Twist” family edition!! Get your paint area ready and grab some cookies and juice. I’d like to think that I will be the grand paint leader and guide Abram and Ellie into a fabulous painting, but let’s be real….. They will probably paint whatever they want because they are strong willed children. haha!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I’ll be posting all our activities on our Instagram story this week, so follow along and share yours!
