As parents we love gifting our children with seasonal gifts, I know I do (even if it’s last minute). But finding things they’ll benefit from and you don’t end up trashing can be a challenge.
Most of the time we tend to grab tons of candy. However the older my kids get, I just hate loading them down with sugar. Mainly because they’ll be rambunctiousness for days on days. But we aren’t helping their dental journey either! I mean my kids intake enough sugar with just the normal snacks…. I don’t want to add to it.

So here we go!
(I’ll attach some links below for some gift items!)
- Puzzles or Activities. Give your kids items that will later keep them occupied and enhance their learning.
2. Coloring books & coloring utensils. I love using holidays as a reason to update coloring books and change out old coloring utensils for new ones. There’s nothing worse than tattered and ripped coloring books!
3. Sticker books! I know at some point my kids will grow out of these, but so far they still love them. I’ve also bought them a separate small stretch book for them to collect their favorite stickers in, that was a big hit!
4. Crafts. Target seriously has the cutest small craft projects that are wallet friendly.
5. A Valentine Mailbox. These are adorable for the kids to decorate for all their Valentine goodies and cards. Most teachers will allow them to bring them to school for all the Valentines cards they will receive.
6. Books. We love new books! When you read nightly it’s nice to pop in new books every so often.
7. Balloons! These are always a fun and cheap way to make Valentines exciting for the kids. I haven’t met a kid yet that doesn’t like balloons.
8. Red & Pink school supplies. Need restocking?? This is the time to do it!! Helps you, helps them!
9. An experience or adventure! This is always my favorite and really great for all holidays. Get the kiddos moving and make fun memories without creating more cutter in their toy boxes.
10. Valentine Day shirts! Shirts are always cute to wear to school on Valentines Day or have a more neutral one made so they can wear it more than once.
